As part of Work Package 2 – Sharing of Needs and Decision Making on the Platform – the STTAIRS consortium has begun analysing and testing AI-enhanced plugins for Moodle. This is a crucial step in building the technological foundation that will support our training pathways for teachers across Europe.
Why AI-enhanced Moodle?
Moodle is one of the most widely used learning management systems in education, and its open-source nature makes it an ideal platform for integrating innovative tools. By enhancing Moodle with carefully selected AI plugins, we aim to create a learning environment that is not only effective but also aligned with our core principles: responsible AI, digital well-being and inclusive education.
What are we looking for?
Where are we now?
We are currently in the early stages of this process. Our partners from Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Belgium and Turkey are contributing their expertise and perspectives, ensuring that the solutions we select will work across different educational contexts and cultures.
This collaborative approach is essential. What works in one country may need adaptation for another, and we are committed to finding tools that are flexible, accessible and genuinely useful for teachers throughout Europe.
What comes next?
In the coming months, we will complete our evaluation and begin sharing our findings and recommendations. Our goal is to provide not just a list of tools, but practical guidance on how to implement AI in teacher training in a meaningful and sustainable way.
