Mapping teacher needs

As part of Work Package 3, design of Training Pathways and Educational Resources, the STTAIRS consortium has launched the first stage of a needs assessment process aimed at understanding what teachers across Europe really need when it comes to artificial intelligence in the classroom.

What are we doing?

Led by Blanquerna–Universitat Ramon Llull, partners from Spain, Croatia, Portugal, Belgium, and Turkey are working together to identify the real competency gaps teachers face in three key areas: AI literacy, AI-enhanced pedagogy, and responsible AI use. The assessment tool has already been reviewed and validated by a panel of experts, ensuring that the questions are pedagogically sound, relevant, and accessible to educators with different levels of digital experience.

Why does this matter?

Training that is not grounded in real needs risks missing the mark. The needs assessment is how we make sure that what we build is genuinely useful for the teachers who will use it, and for the students they teach every day.
